What is your role on the Verdant TCS team?
Director of Sales. I spend my time cultivating new and potential client relationships while making sure we take good care of our existing ones.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
I grew up in Cascade/Ada, Michigan and currently call Ada my home. I enjoy being outdoors any moment I can. You can usually find me golfing, mountain biking, and waterskiing in the warmer months. When the weather doesn’t cooperate, I enjoy a good round of Golden Tee. In the winter months I take advantage of Michigan’s beautiful snowfall and enjoy cross-country skiing or downhill skiing.
Three words would you use to describe yourself:
Passionate, Determined, Urgency.
What does your typical day look like?
I am an early riser and start my day, like most, with a pot of coffee. After mapping out my daily schedule I like to check-in with the team and scope out how our current clients are doing. If any of our clients need my attention that is the first priority. Then it is off to the races. I never put the phone down or step away from my computer until late in the evening when everyone else has called it a day. I feel energized by my work and often have to be told to log off and enjoy the evenings by my co-workers.
What do you like most about Verdant TCS?
Working alongside Mike Shollack with his wealth of knowledge and passion for bringing the top cybersecurity solutions to every business. One thing that sets Verdant’s work environment apart from my past jobs is the close-knit team of experts that vary widely in their skill sets. My team often jokes about my famous tagline, “One team, one dream,” but it is truly the leading philosophy around the office. We are like a small family, always jumping in to help each other out.
Before working at Verdant TCS, what was the most interesting job you ever had?
Starting my own business at age 18 that grew from small time johnny-on-the-spot work to handling enterprise corporate accounts. I learned the value of hard work and what it meant to have a team of employees counting on you and the success of your business. A business is never just one individual and I am proud of the fact that several members of my team were with me for over 10-15 years until it was time to evolve.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled and why?
I’m a big fan of anywhere in the Caribbean with its stress-free, laid-back atmosphere.
What is the most recent app you have downloaded, but are yet to use?
Trail Forks, an app for searching out detailed information and maps for mountain biking trails.
Your favorite piece of throwback technology:
Atari. I was so proud of when I got my Pitfall Cliffhangers patch in the mail. (For those youngsters out there, you had to hit a high score of over 99,000 in Pitfall before they would send it to you. It was a major accomplishment.)
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Spaghetti.
