What is your role on the Verdant TCS team?
Director of Managed Services
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
I was born and raised in the small town of Dorr, Mi. Currently, I don’t live too far from there in an even smaller town called New Salem, MI with my husband, our daughter Peyton, our 2 cats (Boots and Trumpet), and Dog (Gunner).
If you had asked me when I was younger if I thought I would end up in the computer industry I would have emphatically, said no. I originally started out pursuing accounting in college. After the first year, I switched to a technology degree. Around the same time I started working on a help desk and found a love for the project side of technology and have been a business analyst for the last 10+ years before joining Verdant TCS.
When I’m not on the job, I enjoy working out at the gym, hanging with my family, playing softball, and visiting the 200+ breweries here in Michigan.
Three words would you use to describe yourself:
Honest, motivated, determined.
What does your typical day look like?
On a typical day I get up and hit the gym at 5am. Then coffee and straight to work. Each day can differ, but the majority of my time is spent helping customers with any issues they may have and working on different projects for each customer.
What do you like most about Verdant TCS?
Hands down the people. This is the best group of people I have ever worked with.
Before working at Verdant TCS, what was the most interesting job you ever had?
I’m not sure that it was all that interesting, but I worked at a deli in a grocery store. It stands out because it taught me a lot about customer service and working at a fast pace. I think everyone starting in the job force should work at least one retail/customer service type job. It can teach you a lot about understanding customer needs and working under pressure.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled, and why?
While answering this I am realizing I need to travel more! But I would have to say the best place I have traveled is St. Johns, USVI. I went there on my honeymoon and that place was perfect. The people were so nice and the beaches were the best I have ever visited.
What is the most recent app you have downloaded, but are yet to use?
An app called LikeWise. It’s an app that gives you suggestions on the next books or shows to read/watch based off of your likes and dislikes.
Your favorite piece of throwback technology:
That’s a toss up between the original Nintendo and the Atari. Nothing beats those old school video games.
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Lemon pepper or BBQ traditional wings from Buffalo Wild Wings.
